How to Choose the Right KitchenAid Mixer For You
Whether you are a baker extraordinaire or looking to live a more from scratch life, at some point you’ve considered getting a KitchenAid mixer.
Deciding to Take the Plunge
Usually people look it up, see the price and abort. I get it, you can get a hand held mixer for $20 on Amazon why spend $299+? There is something that brings people back to KitchenAid mixers thought. My theory, it’s nostalgic. Even if we didn’t have a parent or grandparent with one, it make have been a friend’s mom you saw using or the least they are featured in movies insistently. Either way, it gives us the feelings.
I bought myself my KitchenAid mixer when I was first starting out living on my own. I got my first apartment later then most people these days, since at the time my job required so much travel it didn’t make sense to pay rent somewhere that I was at probably at 10 hours a month. All I had was a mattress and living room furniture, although I’d just gotten them. I’d dreamed of my very own KitchenAid for awhile.
Which Model to Get
Now that you’ve decided to jump in and get a KitchenAid stand mixer, the next step is to choose which model is the best fit for you.

My KitchenAid Mixer
I ended up with a tilt-head Artisan model, it came in the metallic red I loved and I chose the model that came with the glass bowl with a handle. I felt like I have this great classic tool and getting a glass bowl would give it a cool modern look.
At this point I’ve had my mixer for 7 years and have never had one complaint about it. I’ve even expanded to having additional attachments. I ended up getting the pasta and ice cream attachments. The ice cream one is an absolute favorite one of mine. I’m hoping to get one from a third party that is a flour mill so we could grind our own flour.
